Kunstmuseum Brandts presents, for the first time in Scandinavia, a solo exhibition by the Jamaican-Canadian artist Tau Lewis (b. 1993). In her works, recycled textiles and found natural materials are transformed into hand-sewn tapestries, animistic sculptures, and spatial installations, where personal experience, the histories of the materials, and sensory atmospheres are woven together.
The exhibition unfolds as a total installation of sculptures accompanied by a sensory soundscape. Visitors encounter both human-like figures and supernatural beings with seashells, driftwood, and blooming textile forms. The exhibition takes its point of departure in the Sumerian goddess Inanna and follows her journey through the underworld toward resurrection as the Queen of Heaven. Admission: Free admission with annual pass or paid admission. Venue: Kunstmuseum Brandts.
