Sæla - The Magic Suitcase is a captivating exhibition inspired by Iceland's spectacular landscapes, ancient mythology, and legends of trolls and supernatural beings. The exhibition presents 14 original artistic illustrations that unfold the story of Sæla – a 190-year-old Icelandic troll woman who lives alone in a cave on the mountain Helgafell. Her dream of exploring the world becomes reality on a magical night, and the illustrations capture each chapter of her adventurous journey.
Artist Sígrun opens the exhibition in person at a reception Thursday, October 8 at 4:00 PM, where the director of the Nordic Atlantic House, Annette Lyberth, delivers an opening speech. Light refreshments are served at the event. The illustrations are also featured in a concurrently published children's book, which expands the experience and makes it possible to follow Sæla's universe through both visual artistic expression and storytelling. The book is sold in the Nordic Atlantic House shop on the ground floor.
The exhibition is for both children and adults and is located on the 2nd floor. There is free admission for everyone.
