Museum TID's main exhibition explores the development of Funen and Odense through thousands of years, presenting the local interpretation of Danish history through an impressive collection of approximately 2000 objects and stories about people and events that have been significant in the region's place on the world map.
The exhibition spans two floors and encompasses 11 thematic areas, where film, sound, and interactive elements create an engaging experience. Among the highlights is Denmark's oldest skull from the entrance — belonging to a man who drowned in a bog on Funen 10,000 years ago. The question about his fate — whether he fell through ice or was sacrificed to ancient gods — remains an unsolved mystery that reminds us how different the world once was.
The title is based on a story about a woman from Drejø, who told her priest that she lived in the center of the world: because the island lay equidistant from Ærøskøbing, Rudkøbing, and Svendborg. It is a reminder that our perspective is always colored by our own position in the world.
