A literary reading club dedicated to five novels written by female authors with East German roots. The club explores works that are not primarily about society, but rather about love, family dynamics, and everyday life—where the East German heritage is constantly present, even after the reunification of Germany.
From the fall of the wall in 1989 to the present, the books explore complex themes of identity, cultural differences, and daily experiences following this momentous historical event. Using terms such as "The Land That Vanished" and "Land in the Past," they examine the nuanced relationship between East and West Germans.
