Meet artist Ida Kvetny, who combines classical sculpture with digital technologies in her artistic practice. Her work bridges the physical form with the possibilities that digital technology offers.
Kvetny works with the State Museum of Art's digital collection, SMK Open, and reinterprets works by Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen — including the mermaid, horse head, and painted plaster sculptures. In her works, sculpture undergoes transformation: from original to new interpretation, from physical to digital and back again.
The lecture explores how digital technology not only reproduces existing artworks but fundamentally transforms our way of seeing, interpreting, and experiencing sculptural forms. You will have the opportunity to experience one of Ida Kvetny's AR works directly on your phone.
