Experience Scandinavia's first major solo exhibition featuring Canadian artist Tau Lewis up close. Join a guided tour through MOUTH CLOSE TO EARTH – WHERE SOFT GODS GROW, where Lewis works with reclaimed materials such as old fabric strips, hides, and shells to create meaningful artworks.
Tau Lewis explores existential themes through her slow, hand-crafted process – a deliberate counterpoint to the pace of achievement-driven society. She combines current issues such as sustainability, climate crisis, and species survival with spirituality, cultural roots, and marginalized histories that have long been excluded from art history.
The exhibition at Kunstmuseum Brandts is an immersive total installation where the works are connected to the myth of the Sumerian goddess Inana and bound together by a sound piece created with composer Lyra Pramuk. Several works were created specifically for Odense. The guided tour gives you the opportunity to dive into the artist's vision over approximately one hour.
