Relative Stillness is a performance by Cikaros about circus training and the question of what it all means. After 25 years of practising handstands, circus artist Signe Løve Anderskov examines on stage whether the effort has been worth it. The audience is brought close to the tension between control, falling, and life purpose through physical demonstrations as well as philosophical and scientific reflections on why people practise.
The performance offers an intimate insight into circus training as both physical discipline and an existential inquiry. Concept, direction, and performer: Signe Løve Anderskov. Set designer and co-director: Sir Grand Lear. Dramaturgical consultant: Betina Rex. Sound designer: Daniel Fogh. Lighting designer: Martin Danielsen. Venue: Dynamo - Workspace for circus and performing art, Odense.
