Pert Near Sandstone visits Dexter for a concert where American roots, bluegrass, and Americana come together in an energetic and virtuosic sound. The band is from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and for more than 20 years has stood out as a major force on the American roots scene. Audiences can look forward to strong songwriting, intense musicianship, and a sense of humor as the group presents material from the album Side By Side.
Pert Near Sandstone was formed by four friends with a shared love of modern stringband music. Their sound is rooted in the classic bluegrass tradition with instruments such as banjo, mandolin, fiddle, and pedal steel, while also moving well beyond the genre's usual boundaries. The band has performed on stages around the world, including Roskilde Festival in 2017, and in the USA they have shared the stage with Béla Fleck, Billy Strings, Jerry Douglas, and Steve Martin.
Admission: 195 kr + possible fee. A ticket must be purchased in advance.
