Preview performance. When We Dead Awaken follows the celebrated sculptor Rubæk, whose artistic golden age is over. When Irene, who once modeled for his masterpiece, suddenly re-enters his life, an unresolved relationship resurfaces, intertwining love, desire, and art. The play explores what a masterpiece costs, and who ultimately has to pay the price.
The production is Henrik Ibsen’s final drama from 1899 and the third part of the 'Ghost Trilogy', though it can be experienced entirely on its own. Henrik Ibsen was a Norwegian playwright and is regarded as one of the most important writers in theatre history. The two previous productions, Ghosts and The Lady from the Sea, were both critically acclaimed audience successes, and Ghosts also earned Malene Melsen a Reumert for Supporting Actress of the Year, while The Lady from the Sea won a Reumert for Theatre Production of the Year. The production is a co-production between Husets Teater and Odense Teater. Admission: 170 kr. Venue: Odense Teaters Teatersal.
