Actor, television host, and author Esben Dalgaard invites the audience on a personal and life-affirming exploration of our relationship with death. Drawing from his own serious illness, he poses the central question: Can one become friends with death – and should one?
The lecture combines personal experiences with encounters with people from Denmark and international travel to Mexico, the Philippines, and Japan, where Dalgaard explores different cultures' perspectives on death. He shares clips and stories from conversations with hospital chaplain Lotte Mørk, former chairman of the Ethics Council Jacob Birkler, and professionals who work daily with the end of life.
This is not a lecture offering ready-made answers. Instead, the audience is invited to practice open conversation about death and potentially ease their fear of it.
