Author Johanne Mygind guides you through her work on the novel Poisoned, which springs from her family's connection to the chemical factory Cheminova. She tells the story of her grandfather, who as operations director at the factory was partly responsible for one of Denmark's greatest environmental scandals.
The novel follows the main character Nanna, who travels to western Jutland to write a novel about her grandfather — a journey that develops into a deep personal and moral struggle. Mygind addresses the central question: How do you tell the truth about those you love without being harmed by it yourself?
The author, known for the novel Years of Love, will this evening take you on a reflective journey through literature, Danish history, and important questions about environment, responsibility, and family. She will also argue why conversations about Høfde 42 on Harboøre Tange — where Cheminova dumped chemical waste from 1957 onwards — still matter today.
