At Brandts in Odense, you can experience P.S. Krøyer’s monumental painting Fra Københavns Børs, which was rescued from the fire at Børsen. The work is considered one of Krøyer’s most important and portrays the leading business and finance figures of the time in the grand hall of Børsen, offering a vivid insight into an important period in Danish history. P.S. Krøyer is a major figure in Danish art and is especially known for his striking depictions of people and atmosphere.
The exhibition also has a special local angle, as C.F. Tietgen from Odense stands at the center of the painting. At Brandts, you can study the details up close, observe the figures, and experience both the artistic weight of the work and the more recent story connected to its rescue from the flames.
