KONTIKI is a new Danish theatrical production that introduces young audiences to an inspiring story about adventure, courage and self-discovery. The work follows a small group of people on a journey that unfolds both geographically around the world and inwardly through the depths of the soul and the human psyche. The play tells how the impossible can become reality through faith, dreams and venturing beyond one's own boundaries.
The production addresses important life philosophical questions: How do we develop as human beings? When are mistakes important learning moments? How do we find the courage to take risks, even if it means things go wrong? Through the story of these adventurers' struggle and setbacks, themes of strength, compassion and understanding of how the world is interconnected are developed. The production emphasizes that genuine development often requires willingness to be hurt and face adversity, as it is through these experiences that we find meaning and inner strength.
