International Inuit Day is marked with a concert by Nive & the Deer Children. The band blends warm storytelling, Arctic atmosphere, and americana folk in their own musical universe, which they call inuit-indie.
Nive Nielsen is Inuk, a singer and songwriter, and together with The Deer Children she creates a distinctive sound shaped by Inuit folk, Nordic melancholy, and americana. Her debut album Nive Sings was released in 2012 in collaboration with John Parish, known for his work with artists including PJ Harvey and Tracy Chapman. Since then, she has toured extensively in the USA and Canada, won awards in both Denmark and the USA, and appeared in both The Terror and The New World. In January 2026, she returns with her first album since the critically acclaimed Feet First (2015).
The concert takes place at Nordatlantisk Hus. Seating is unnumbered, and the doors open at 18.30. Tickets cost 90 kr. plus fee for students and 130 kr. plus fee for standard.
