Art historian Birgitte Zacho introduces you to J.M.W. Turner's work before you watch Mike Leigh's film Mr. Turner. She explores how this significant English painter revolutionized landscape painting by combining art historical tradition with modern philosophy and natural science. Inspired by Claude Lorrain and Goethe's color theory, Turner created an artistic expression that still feels fresh and relevant today.
