Meet artist Kaja Lahoda for a conversation about her current exhibition Sit at M100. She discusses the development of her work and her artistic approach, alongside the exhibition's closing reception.
Sit presents a series of wall-mounted reliefs created from vintage typeset cases in various sizes. Each small compartment functions as its own scene, filled with organic and synthetic materials – wax flows through the grid while discarded packaging, plants, textiles, photographic fragments and miniature furniture create unexpected compositions. The exhibition title plays with multiple meanings: the gesture of sitting, the act of placing, and a dog command.
Kaja Lahoda (born 1994) graduated from the Royal Danish Academy and has exhibited internationally in Denmark, Norway, Czechia, Switzerland and Lithuania. In 2024, she received the Carl Nielsen and Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen talent prize and has gained recognition through exhibitions including Within the Wall at Tranen in Hellerup.
