A pioneering Danish sculptor comes into focus
Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen was far more than a composer's wife — she was one of Denmark's most significant sculptors and a pioneer who left her mark on Danish art history. The exhibition At forme liv at Museum TID presents her as an artist in her own right, a woman who defied the expectations of her time and created monumental works such as equestrian statues and cathedral doors — something no other woman before her had dared to undertake.
Around 200 works showcase her artistic vision
The collection comprises approximately 200 sculptures and sketches that demonstrate how Carl-Nielsen united human and nature in organic, living forms. Her artistic eye was able to see the great in the small, and her works radiate presence, strength and life. Humans and animals meet in an equal, poetic interplay that underscores the artist's humanistic and vitalistic approach to sculpture.
The past meets the present through art and technology
In collaboration with contemporary artist Jesper Just, Carl-Nielsen's universe unfolds in a modern perspective. Seven film works that use light, sound and infrared technology transform the experience of sculpture's force and demonstrate its relevance in our digital world. Here materiality from the past meets technology from the present in a sensory and reflective aesthetic.
