Embark on a spooky family adventure through Odense, meeting supernatural beings from H.C. Andersen's fairy tales and old Danish folklore. The tour reveals the story of the River Spirit, who has grown furious and threatens to flood Odense — and how this otherworldly force might be appeased.
Along the way, families encounter creatures such as water nymphs, will-o'-the-wisps, and bog-women, while storyteller Torben Iversen and the H.C. Andersen Parade bring Andersen's world to life. The tour combines dramatic storytelling with historical guidance from H.C. Andersen's House, starting at the author's childhood home, where each family receives a lantern for the atmospheric evening walk.
The route covers just over 1 km at a leisurely pace, suitable for the whole family, and concludes at the washing place near the Nobility Convent.
